On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at Room 5301, Lecture Building 5, Walailak University, the Cooperative Education and Career Development Center organized an upskilling program entitled “First Step Towards a Career in the Civil Service: Preparation for the OCSC Examination.” The program was designed to enhance career readiness among graduates and fourth-year students prior to graduation.

The session was honored to welcome Mr. Udom Sukthong, Director of the Inmate Development Section at the Central Correctional Institution for Young Offenders, Department of Corrections. As an experienced civil servant and well-known instructor specializing in civil service entrance examinations, Mr. Udom has extensive expertise in preparing candidates for the OCSC General Ability Examination, as well as in laws and regulations relevant to government recruitment examinations. He is also the author of several civil service examination preparation guides, including publications for the Department of Corrections examination and the OCSC examination.

The session covered key areas of preparation for the OCSC examination, including general knowledge and abilities, test-taking techniques, relevant laws and government regulations, as well as guidance on planning a career path in the civil service. The program aimed to equip students and graduates with both the knowledge and confidence needed to prepare effectively for the actual examination.

More than 200 students participated in the activity, reflecting strong interest among students and graduates in pursuing careers in the civil service. The event also demonstrates Walailak University’s commitment to equipping its graduates with essential career skills alongside academic knowledge, enabling them to confidently pursue diverse career pathways after graduation.
