Upper Southern CWIE Network Organizes the Third CWIE Supervising Faculty Training Program to Strengthen Supervisory Capacity and Enhance the Quality of Work-Integrated Education
On 25–26 June 2026, the Upper Southern CWIE Network organized the third CWIE Supervising Faculty Training Program for New Supervisors (Revised Edition 2023) at the Mueang Ligor Hotel in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The program aimed to equip supervising faculty members with the knowledge, understanding, and skills required to implement Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) effectively.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Phadungsak Suksa-Ard, Chair of the Upper Southern CWIE Network and Vice President of Walailak University, who also delivered welcoming remarks to the participants.
The program also featured a special lecture entitled “National Policies and Directions for Workforce Production and Development” delivered by Dr. Wannee Nonsiri, Chief Inspector General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The lecture highlighted policy directions and approaches to advancing CWIE in support of Thailand’s future workforce development.
A total of 77 supervising faculty members from various universities participated in the program, together with facilitators assigned to all nine groups. Participants engaged in lectures, panel discussions, and workshops covering the entire CWIE process, including curriculum design, student preparation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and partnership development with host organizations.
Throughout the two-day program, participants actively exchanged knowledge, shared experiences, and strengthened professional networks. The program reflected the collective commitment of all sectors to enhancing the quality of CWIE, supporting national workforce development, and creating sustainable benefits for students, partner organizations, and Thai society.
