On 1 April 2026, Walailak University, the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, hosted the 2026 Upper Southern CWIE Network Outstanding Cooperative Education Contest. The event brought together participants from nine universities in Southern Thailand and was held at the Srithammarat Meeting Room on the third floor of the Architecture and Design Building, Walailak University.

Walailak University students achieved outstanding results, winning six awards across four categories, as follows:

Science and Technology Category
Mr. Jassadakorn Suwannakoch, a Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence student from the School of Engineering and Technology, received the First Runner-up Award.

Social Sciences and Humanities Category
Ms. Aye Mary, an International Business Administration student from the School of Management, received the Winner Award.

Outstanding Innovation Category
Mr. Chayanat Chaiwan, a Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence student from the School of Engineering and Technology, received the First Runner-up Award.

Ms. Plum Kaekeengam, an Information Technology and Digital Innovation student from the School of Informatics, received the Second Runner-up Award.

Outstanding International Cooperative Education Category
Mr. Nitipoom Palawan, an Environmental Health student from the School of Public Health, received the First Runner-up Award.

Ms. Nadia Hayeeyapa, a Digital Communication student from the School of Informatics, received the Second Runner-up Award.

Following the contest, Ms. Aye Mary and Mr. Nitipoom Palawan were selected to represent the Upper Southern CWIE Network at the national-level competition, scheduled to take place in May 2026 at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
