Didyasarin International College, Hatyai University, Thailand Visits Walailak University to Study Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE)
On 30 May 2025, Walailak University welcomed Didyasarin International College, Hatyai University on a study visit focusing on Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE).
Walailak University is recognized as a leading institution in cooperative education, with proven success in producing graduates who are well-equipped with professional skills and ready to enter the workforce immediately upon completion of their cooperative education program aligning with current industry needs.
The delegation of 15 members, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Praman Thepsongkroh, Dean of Didyasarin International College, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Atthanun Techopisanwong, Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, along with staffs from the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development and the Division of Corporate Communications.
During the visit, discussions were held on Walailak University’s distinctive cooperative education model, which was extended from four months to eight months across two consecutive semesters since 2019. This transformation has enabled students to gain more comprehensive and continuous workplace experience, and it has become a model for many other universities in Thailand to adopt.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Praman remarked that Walailak University has rapidly advanced and has become a prominent reference point for CWIE in Thailand. He praised the university’s leadership in cooperative education, stating that Walailak University could be “Recognized as one of the most professional teams in cooperative education in Thailand.” He also expressed gratitude to Walailak University for generously sharing its knowledge, strategies, and best practices, which will be adapted to enhance the cooperative education system at Didsayasin International College.
The Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, Walailak University Center operates under the concept of “One-Stop Service for Cooperative Education.” By overseeing all cooperative education students across the university, the Center has successfully driven the transition to the eight-month model—a major challenge for students, school, the university, and employers alike. With its positive outcomes, Walailak University continues to attract numerous institutions nationwide seeking to learn from its CWIE practices.
