On Thursday, 8 may 2024, Walailak University by Professor Dr. Sombat Thammrongthanyawong, President, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Protha Company Limited (Thailand) or Realme – a Chinese smartphone company, while Realme by Miss Apichaya Yataworn, HR Manager, signed on behalf of the company at Chorpraduu Chamber, A-Building, Walailak University Hospital. The MOU witnessed signed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard, Vice President of Walailak University and Miss Wilailak Voradej, HR Specialist of Realme.   

The MOU aims at supporting Walailak University (WU) students who want to undertake a Cooperative and Work Integrated Education, especially in Chinese language at Realme company for 8 months. President Sombat Thammrongthanyawong emphasized that Walalaki University focuses on a quality of student development to be “Academics Excellence with Professional Skills”. Hundred percent of WU students must be trained by government office or private sectors deepening on their choice of interest and expertise. The university has provided an academic supervisor to advise the students onsite and collaborate with entrepreneur to improve and upskill the students. Miss Apichaya Yataworn, HR Manager mentioned that Realme is a Chinese smartphone company established on May 4, 2018 (National Youth Day of China), by former Oppo vice-president and head of overseas business department. The company started operating from India first with the launch of the Realme 1 smartphone in May 2018. Subsequently, it launched the Realme 2 and Realme 2 Pro smartphones in India which made it one of the fastest-growing brands in 2018. Besides, the company also plans to move to other global markets like Indonesia, Mainland China and Taiwan, and planned to establish around 25 exclusive service centers across world. From her insight experience of working with WU students, she found that the students from WU were in a high quality, can adapt themselves well and eager to learn. In the future, the company planned to expand by accepting more students from other areas to support a fast growth of the company.
