Walailak University has been awarded the “National Award for Outstanding International CWIE University 2024” at the 14th Annual Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) Day 2024. This recognition reflects the university’s policy of enhancing students’ global competencies, increasing their opportunities for employment abroad after graduation.

Assistant Professor Dr. Phadungsak Suksawat, Vice President of Walailak University, received the award from Ms. Supamas Issaraphakdee, Minister of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, at the 14th Annual CWIE Day 2024. The event, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in collaboration with the Upper Central CWIE Network and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, was held under the theme “THE NEXT CWIE’s FUTURE: Developing People to Meet National Development Needs through CWIE.” The event took place on June 6, 2024, at the Vayupak Grand Ballroom, 4th Floor, Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok.

Walailak University has implemented the cooperative education system since its inception in 1998 and has been started international cooperative education since 2002. The university is committed to continuously promoting student participation in international cooperative education programs, alongside teaching English language by the native speaker. Emphasizing small-class, active learning environments across all programs, the university aims to equip students with global competencies, enhance their English and other foreign language skills, and develop their ability to adapt to living and working abroad. Through these efforts, students gain valuable experience in international work cultures, strengthening their readiness for the global workforce. The Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development at Walailak University has collaborated with various international organizations, offering students preparatory courses for international cooperative education programs. These programs have been conducted in over 20 countries worldwide, including Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Australia, Indonesia, Laos, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Hungary, South Africa, and the Czech Republic.
